Main Fnordians

The Main Fnordians are those who came first onto the scene in [Title Pending], almost all of them are cribbed straight from the game Xenogears, although usually with a serious personality change.

Fei

Our main character, sometimes. Fei is quiet, caring, and concerned about his relationship with Elly. He isn't gay, despite rumors to the contrary. Skilled in the martial arts, Fei sometimes exhibits strange abilities, including physical transformations and ki manipulation. Fei enjoys video games, especially side-scrollers like the Castlevania series and Mega Man games. Fei is also the Champion, whatever that is supposed to mean.

Elly

Fei's love interest. Elly is brazen, dangerous, and cares deeply for Fei. She loves money though, and sometimes involves Fei in her various schemes. Elly caries a loaded pistol with her most of the time, and will use it at the drop of the hat. She strongly dislikes Billy, due to her strong belief that Billy is trying to steal Fei away from her.

Citan

Citan is a doctor. He doesn't show up too often in [Title Pending], making him a minor character. Citan is soft spoken, but dangerous in battle. He is no match for Bart though, at least not when Bart's drunk. Citan also runs a 'stable' of fighters of various skill levels.

Bart

Bart is a prince from an insignificant desert kingdom in the middle of nowhere. He is married to Margie, tends to be boastful, and is homosexual, although Margie doesn't let that stop him from performing his 'princely duties' at least once a week.

Billy

Billy is a mad scientist and priest. Creator of a horde of robot duplicates, unscrupulous in his plans for world domination, and quite brilliant. Billy is a main character, but he doesn't appear often, allowing his robots to do the dirty work (and take the hits). Sometimes Billy's inventions don't work out as planned, due to his carelessness. Billy is actually trying to steal Fei away from Elly, but only so that he can get at her easily as well.

Margie

Margie is married to Bart. Her job is escorting the souls of dead cast members to their final reward/punishment. It doesn't pay much, but the workload is pretty light, unless Elly's been into the Robo-Billy's again. Her, Maria, and Emeralda tend to hang out a lot together, with Margie being the de facto 'leader' of their little triumverate.

Maria

Maria is actually a judge for the state of Upper Fnordia. She tends to speak her mind, which can land her in trouble. Her, Margie, and Emeralda tend to hang out a lot together.

Rico

Rico is a serious party animal. He lives with Bart and Margie, but only seldom pays rent or does anything other than sleep on their couch and hit the bar at night.

Emeralda

Emeralda was once Guardian of Time. It was a crummy job, stuck guarding continuity and obliterating the occasional time traveler with delusions of conquest. All of that changed when she met Robo-Billy 16, and fell in love with the big goof. Now happily engaged, the two live together in a small apartment. She bartends at the local pub Vintage '23 to pay the bills. Emeralda hangs out a lot with Margie and Maria, when she isn't spending time around her boyfriend, Rubeus.

Rubeus

The best creation of Billy's twisted genius, Rubeus (formerly Robo-Billy 16) is a nice guy/android. He's taken to wearing gray scarves so people can tell him from his evil creator. He loves Emeralda, but he thinks she gets too worked up over things.

Lesser Fnordians

'Lesser' Fnordians are the average joes of the setting, many of them only appear once or twice, then quickly vanish from the scene. The soldiers, the G-men, and various others are all lesser Fnordians. They get a listing, but no pictures, sorry guys, maybe next year.

The Lost

The Lost are a group of extra-dimensionals, recently exiled from their homeworld of Rune-Midgard, which has fallen to the Destroyer and the Scourge. There are many amongst the Lost, hundreds in fact, who have not appeared so far in [Title Pending] and are unlikely to appear. The Lost is lead by Mother, a powerful Wizard of almost godlike skills (and surpassing many of the Petty Godlings, such as the Light Avatar, the Celestials, and the Guardians), while she refers to all of the Lost as her children, only a few of them actually are her children, and they are the most powerful.

Harvey

Harvey is a bard, and one of Mother's sons. He is loud, ill-tempered, rude, and smokes constantly. He also plays a wide variety of naughty songs. However, as a full-trained Bard, Harvey has a variety of talents which are unknown, or unexplained.

Karkasos

A Magician of no small skill, but nowhere near the level of Mother, whether or not Karkasos is actually one of Mother's sons is unclear. He fits the description, but he's also married to Kurumi, who is one of Mother's daughters. Hopefully, this may become resolved, and in a way that doesn't imply that Mother and the Lost have very loose morals...

Kurumi

The Acolyte of the 'ugly hair and dirty clothes', Kurumi is one of Mother's daughters. Kurumi's magical abilities stem from a connection to a universe and a system of deities which no longer exist, making her powerless here in Fnordia. Whether she can attain a new conduit for her Acolyte powers remains unknown. She is apparently married to Karkasos.

Kyoko

The Sage Kyoko knows more than she is letting on, but then, so do most of the Lost. Kyoko is another of Mother's daughters, and the most knowledgable of them about the ways of magic. In certain limited areas, her skill even surpasses Mother's.

Maxine

A skilled fighter who never removes her blindfold, Maxine developed a two-weapon fighting style which emphasizes speed and power at a young age. She seems to have taken a liking to Rico, but whether for his skills or for himself remains to be seen.

Mother

The most powerful female Wizard to ever come from Rune-Midgard, Mother is somewhat of an enigma. She has powers easily on or above the level of her offspring, but she was seemingly powerless before the Scourge. Her known children are Harvey, Kurumi, Kyoko, Santos, Suzuki Yuka, and Tokiyo, with the adopted elven girl Yu now lost to the Destroyer, and the Destroyer himself a disowned son. This still leaves one son unaccounted for, unless Karkasos is it.

Santos

The assassin with the funny hat, Santos is one of Mother's sons, and the most skilled fighter alive with two swords. None, however, have lived to tell the tale once he closed with them in battle. His stealth abilities are superlative, but still cannot take into account his funny hat.

Suzuki Yuka

The former fighter for hire Suzuki Yuka has survived many battles and is one of Mother's daughters. Why she is the only one of Mother's children with two names is a mystery at present, but she can apparently battle Fei to a standstill, making her an extremely powerful warrior.

Tokiyo

An alchemist of ill-repute, Tokiyo is kind of the black sheep of Mother's daughters. Her experiments into bio-mechanics and enhanced lifeforms may have extended the battle against the Scourge, but the others amongst the Lost are worried she may begin practicing her dark trade here in Fnordia. Her skills grant her an amount of magical power, but most of it is locked away in various items.

Welindur

The Crusader Welindur, a tragic hero. He fell in with the man who would become the Destroyer early on, and helped him attain much of his great power. When the Rift opened, Welindur and many others who had followed the Destroyer came to their senses and attempted to follow the villain into the Rift. What happened there, none know save them and the Destroyer, but when they were next seen they had become the Faceless, the immortal minions of the Destroyer. The love of Suzuki Yuka may restore him to his former glory, but a shadow of the evil he has wrought will always remain.

Petty Godlings

A generic category for the various and sundry individuals and groups of beings who possess divine (or infernal) or at least nearly divine power. The various Avatars have been around Fnordia since its creation, but the others are newcomers, overthrown from their previous places of power by the Scourge.

Gray Avatar

The Gray Avatar is the Keeper of Balance and is, quite frankly, stuck with an even worse job than Emeralda's old one. He is also guardian of the Mammon Machine, gateway to the Destroyer, who has shown up himself, and who no one knows what happened to that thing.

Dark Avatar

The Dark Avatar is responsible for all the evil in the world. Well, not really, but he likes to think he is, his actual job is the Keeper of Evil, to promote the causes of darkness over light, setting puppies on fire, drowning kittens in vats of acid, stealing candy from babies, that sort of thing. He tends to be even better at his job than he thinks, since his plans to advance evil usually explode well out of proportion for the effort he puts into them.

Light Avatar

The Light Avatar is the Keeper of Good, but, due to budget cuts, and the fact that Fei pretty much upholds goodness by himself as the Champion, he doesn't have much to do.

Dawn Avatar

This female Avatar is the Keeper of Wisdom, a thing in seriously short supply most days in the dimensions of [Title Pending]. What she has been doing, and why it seems that she's been neglecting her job, are currently unknown, but most likely to feature in a storyline which blatently ignores existing continuity...

Celestials

The Celestials are a group of female Petty Godlings, they tend to be arrogant, and sensitive about their height. While there are many Celestials, only one has come to the world of Fnordia so far.

Guardians

The Guardians are a group of identical beings with dimensional transport powers, and not much else. However, as Petty Godlings, they are nigh unkillable, and their power allows them to 'pull' things from other universes to them. What, precisely, they are Guardians of, and why they report to Schala remains unknown.

The Scourge

The Scourge is formed of Chaos, directed by the Destroyer, and strengthened by the energies of a thousand scorched dimensions. All who have stood before the Scourge have fallen, but hope still remains.

The Destroyer

Leader of the Scourge, Avatar of Chaos, and Keeper of World's End, the Destroyer is the last of Mother's children. She took his name when he betrayed her and Rune-Midgard, unleashing the power of Chaos upon the worlds. Now he directs his unliving minions to Fnordia, but claims he wishes to unite peacefully here, instead of simply obliterating this world as he has done to so many others...

Faceless

The Faceless are the immortal, unliving servants of the Destroyer. Formerly commanded by Welindur, the Faceless are implaccable foes, if you slay them, they simply rise again. Only Mother and Tokiyo know how to slay a Faceless for good, other than the Destroyer himself, but one of the Petty Godlings may figure it out, eventually.

Yu

The elf maiden, once of virtue pure and joy unbound, is now the dark consort of the Destroyer. He cast her soul and body into the Abyss to shatter the barriers which surrounded and protected the worlds, but it came back, twisted into a mindless abomination. The Destroyer has claimed Yu as his own and controls her like a puppet, but at times she seems to almost remember what once was, and her tears will flow unchecked by the Destroyer's harsh commands.
